The XV-th International Conference on Multiple Criteria Decision Making will take place July 10-14, 2000, at the Middle East Technical University in Ankara, Turkey.
The Conference aims to bring together researchers and practitioners
who address Multiple Criteria Decision Making. The year 2000 offers a timely

MCDM in the New Millennium". Participants are particularly welcome to submit
work relevant to this theme. However, we invite papers on all aspects of
multiple criteria decision making, including:

General
Information About Ankara
Established 3000 years ago by the Hittite Empire, Ankara has witnessed the rise and fall of many civilizations including the Romans and Ottomans, to become in 1923 the capital of the Turkish Republic. With its current population of around 5 million, Ankara is the base of the Turkish government, military organizations, and a number of prominent universities. Hotel rates and living expenses are significantly lower than in most European cities, including Istanbul and the Mediterranean coast of Turkey. Restaurants and bars cater to a wide range of tastes, while shopping in the old city remains an adventure and may uncover bargains on the renowned Turkish carpets, leather, and silverware. Transportation to all regions of Turkey and many points abroad may easily be arranged by bus, railway, or airplane.
Summers in Ankara are usually hot and dry, with daytime temperatures averaging 25°C, so people with fair skins should take precautions to avoid sunburn. Nights are much cooler in comparison and often a jacket or sweater will be needed.
Many airlines offer either direct flights to Ankara International Esenboga airport or connected flights over Istanbul. The domestic flight between Ankara and Istanbul lasts about one hour. Esenboga airport is located at an hour's distance from the city proper. A shuttle will run between the airport and the campus several times on July 9th, the runs being arranged to accommodate as many guests as possible. It is also possible to use the taxi service at the airport, or to take the much cheaper HAVAS shuttle from the airport to town and take a taxi at the last stop.
Information on visa requirements for entry into the Republic of Turkey may be found at the URL http://www.turkey.org/tourism/passport.htm
Shuttle services will be provided from Bilkent Hotel to the Cultural and Convention Center at 8:30 Monday through Thursday, and at 9:00 on Friday. Shuttle services will also be provided to Campus and Bilkent Hotel after the evening events.
A one-way taxi ride between the Cultural and Convention Center and Bilkent Hotel costs about 5 USD.
For your departure transfers to the Ankara-Esenboga Airport; we kindly ask you to confirm your schedule with the information desk at the Cultural & Convention Center.
Both on-campus housing and off-campus hotel accommodation are currently
available, but cannot be guaranteed after May 15, 2000. All on-campus accommodations
are comfortable and include a private bathroom. Those who wish to have
air conditioning and additional luxury may prefer Hotel Bilkent (****)
which is located conveniently close to the METU campus. Transportation
will be provided to the campus in the morning and back to the hotel in
the evening. Room rates for conference participants are provided in the
registration form. The availability of on-campus 2-person rooms is limited
and room assignments shall be made on a first come-first served basis.
